Trail day reports
Check out reports and photos from our previous trail days:
Royal National Park - Mar 31st
The MTB Volunteer day last Saturday was a great day we had a
great turnout of people. Thankyou to the Rangers Leigh, Jessica and
field officer Rick for arranging the day and supplying the equipment
and morning Tea, Celia from Terracare for suppling the gifts and a
special thankyou goes to Reece from CORC (Canberra Off Road Club) his
knowledge and trail building skills was a asset to the project. The
dependable bush regeneration volunteers, thanks again for your hard
work.
We had a lot of new faces on the day which was great
and all were keen to shed some sweat for a good cause. The weather was
fine and a perfect temperature for trail work. The crew were very
productive working on the north side of the creek of the trial trail.
Building soil containment barriers and drains to divert the water off
the track. Up the top of the track the crew laid crushed sandstone over
the muddy sections and the other sections of the track we filled the
eroded sections with soil and packed it down to give a longer lasting
surface. There is still a lot of work to continue
on the track but the result of everyone's efforts are showing. Thanks
again for your efforts and I hope to see everyone back next month. Anthony
Seiver & Paul O'Halloran
Members of the MTB Reference group & MTB volunteer crew.

Manly Dam - Feb 25th All
up 19 attendees came along. We did trail works in 3 sections of the
single track including new boardwalk, a little rocky section, some
planting, some mulching and a bit of defining the trail. Joe Ward from
Cycling Central did a bit of filming and interviewing... thank you
Pauli and Nicole for being in front of the camera. you can see the
Cycling Central article in the special broadcasts at http://www21.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral.
We had a yummy BBQ lunch, thank you CBD for sponsoring the BBQ
and Charley for cooking the snags and bringing Mr Tooheys finest.. It
poured as we ate, but it was great knowing that the tubestock that we
had just put in were getting a good drink. Everyone who helped out
received a gift as thanks for their hard work. Royal
National Park -
Feb 25th
8 volunteers and a bob cat did a very satisfying amount of
soil moving and trail building. They built some chicanes through a fast
section to moderate rider speed and laid in some logs for run-off
management. Leigh was happy with the work done and was impressed that
the volunteers achieved more than she had planned. Again, the gifts
were well received, especially the lube!
